The Hippos Kabin @ Shah Alam

It took me a week to post this entry lmao I deeply apologize as for my negligence towards this blog (bow)

It's fasting season and I have yet to wish all of you Selamat Menyambut Ramadan!
Noob Nas, noob. You're way too late but oh well, I did my part ehe.

Anyway! A week ago, it was Fauzie's birthdaaaaaaay.
Guess who turns twenty-two this year?
This lil brat.

Hence, we went to get Iftar together as well as spending some time for his birthday yay!!
Tbh, he doesn't really fancy eating outside food. But I do. Nak buat macam mana? Hahaha. Ada orang tu cakap dia makan semua but honestly; bro, he's picky af -.-

Back then, when I wanted to have steamboat for lunch/dinner, my fam would bring us to Johnny's Restaurant or Flaming Steamboat. But again, both places only have steamboat buffet/pax. So I never had the chance to eat in where they serve steamboat & grill at the same time.

I texted like-- 4 restaurants to make reservation on weekend. They texted me the same answer afterwards. Full house uwaaaaaaaaa.

Cari punya cari, I stumbled upon this one logo; a cute one actually. Turns out it's a steamboat & grill restaurant and when I texted them, they still got few spots left. Can you imaaaagineeeee how happy I am to finally be able to make reservation on weekend?!

So here goes my first experience. Cliche. Kah kah.

Bawak birthday boy makan :p

The concept is quite fierce though. Placed outdoor, everything is in red. Even the sun showed no mercy when we arrived there. Hence, I apologized for the various lighting in the pictures. As you can see, they only have one long table at the center of the restaurant. Not much of choices though.

Almost got blinded by the sunlight. You so bright ah sun.

Grilling pan(?)/stove(?)/grill-plate(?) what is this thing called hahahahahahaha #siscuba. At any rate, they are placed on each table, covered with aluminium foil for grilling purpose. The bowl for steamboat purpose as well as a plastic pitcher with plastic glasses were given when you're settled with your seating.

First round here we goooooo.

Sadly these (pictures up & below of raw stuff) were the only shots I managed to capture because I was scolded afterwards. Hahahahahaha k T_T
"Nak makan ke nak pegang phone?"
How cruel.

Pour everrryyythinggggg. Sizzle sizzle and grill yaaaaay.

Okay here comes the drawback, at first we managed to be seated at a table that can fit to four person. But then suddenly, the waiter asked us to move to a table that consists with only two chairs which sucks because it wasn't even full house until night came. The couple seat/table was a major no-no for us. We couldn't eat in a comfortable position since we had to put our food plates, ladles, dipping sauce plates, bowls, utensils on the small-sized table. It was suffocating to not be able to have space when you're near to the fire. It was freaking hot though. Furthermore, I can't sit down while trying to flip the items on the grill thingy, the oil and seasoning splattered around, jumping and attacking my skin. Blergh.

Maybe if we were to sit at the four pax per table, we won't feel the difficulty to breathe at ease. Or at least, a bigger table to begin with.

Mushroom Soup & White Bread

Oh, don't mind the color of my bread. I grilled them & the residue of the burnt due to grilling the prawns, beefs & chickens got stuck to the bread bahahaha

Aside from steamboat, they served Laksa as well. If I'm not mistaken, they got Nasi Goreng, Mee/Bihun, Fruits, etc. Too bad it tasted bland that day. I heard people were saying it was good though. Perhaps it's because of the fasting month so yeah, I guess it differs.

Major turn off for the dessert. It does not even taste close to Walls or Nestle or Yogi Yogi or anything that tasted like legit ice cream. There's a tangy flavour lingered in my mouth thereafter eating this. Not sure if it's a homemade ice cream or anything. How about trying some and let me know afterwards?

Told you he's picky. Although I'm not that fastidious, but since I enjoy eating so-- it was quite okay to me.

However, the waiters are quite friendly. They would regularly check on their customer's table, assuring that the soup is enough for the whole table.

A friendly reminder when you want to pick the dipping sauce.
Get the smallest plate nearby, smaller than your palm and take small portion on each sauces. Just to identify which one suits your taste bud and then go back to the buffet table and get more of the chosen sauce!

You will be asked whether you want Chicken Soup or Tom Yam Soup. Since he can't stand spicy stuff, we chose Chicken Soup & it wasn't that bad.

Ah! Another pleasant thing about this place, they prepared a small cabin for customers to perform their prayers & separate them into 2 parts for men & women. (clap hands)

Unlike this one particular restaurant where the prayer room has to be shared with both genders. Seriously?

As for the food, the choices aren't that much compared to other places I have been but oh hey their beef tasted so good! We both agreed on that one. The seasoning matched perfectly. I've never ate that much of beef at one time. Another clap please.

Told you the logo is cute

Here's the price per head during Ramadan. I'm not sure if the price remain the same after fasting month. You can text/call them for more queries.

That's the end of the post! And yes, there's no picture of neither me alone or us together. He hates to be photographed with me (also alone zzz) . Thus, I had to sneak a shot of him. Everytime. Lol.

Bakso Monster @ Seksyen 7 Shah Alam

To be honest, I'm not trying to abandon this blog.
But life is just becoming more and more hectic.
I got sick more than twice in a week
I got a massive headache and the Dr. said I was too stressed (sigh)
Due to.... idk
I honestly don't know why am I stressed.
It's just, suddenly the throbbing came and I was already on the floor thinking ways to stop the pain but of course to no avail where it leads to me eating colorful medicine. My vitamin is in red colour! Ehe.

And so! I can't wait to tell you guys about another food spot for you guys to try it out and yes, it's worth it. Ah, and also I was busy bcs I got involved in curricular activities and even went camping. I'll make a new post about it later on!!! (excitement detected)

(insert drumroll)

I think it was around 10pm that Afi and I finished our curricular activities. We had a training from 8pm and although we're not that ravenous, we still wanted to fill in our tummy with some food before going back to our room. Can't let me sleep in hunger aite.

Not only the signboard is enormous, their menu is soooo huuuugeeeee that it can even cover half of Afi's figure hahahahaha

Their interior was quite nice. It felt cozy and warm. I'm not sure if its because we went there at night but since it's not too packed or crowded with people, it felt just nice to just sit there and enjoy talking with your company. They got various of design for the seating, so you can just choose to sit anywhere you're comfortable with. We were there about 2 hours I guess just doing the talking. Ahaha

Fat Bakso (Glass Noodle) RM 9.90
Hot Camomile RM 6.00

Of course we won't sit that long if the food is not good. Following the name of the restaurant's name itself, here's the so-called fat bakso served with vermicelli glass noodle. I can't recall well but I think you can also choose the types of noodle that they have. If you're the type of person who can't eat big portion yet you eat frequently, sila lah bawa seorang lagi manusia untuk berkongsi. As for me,  I can't really eat much, I get full easily hehe. But then, in an hour my stomach grumbled as if I tak makan the whole day lmao idk what happened to the food particles, they won't convert into fat or nutrition lol.

We love the taste yay! The meatball, resembling lotus made me feel bad to cut it to pieces. I just cannot ah with beautiful food.

I don't really fancy sambal therefore I can't really tell you what are those. Hoho. It was placed on the table. Your choice, whether to add up the spices in your bowl or not.

 Banana Cheese (RM5.00)

Can't forget to pleasure our sweet tooth as well :p Fried crispy banana topped with grated cheese, chocolate rice and condensed milk. I don't suggest you to drink any flavored beverage after eating this since the drink will become tasteless afterward. Plain water it is! xD

Thank you babyyyyyyy for the late night talk

Will we come back again? Definitely!

Surprisingly, after the implementation of Good Service Tax (GST), whenever I dine outside; they will charge you both Government Tax and their own restaurant's/cafe's Service Charge which at the end of the bill, you will have to pay for both.

But this one. They don't even have any hidden charges. Zero. You pay for the food, solid.
And for the price of the food itself, with the portion given; it is worth it.
Yay for the second time!

You, yes you.

Ay.

Hey, it's you.

A charlatan in 3rd person POV.

Not knowing how to get through, you did everything recklessly.

How could you? How could you continue on faking the smile on your face?

How could you swallow and choke on your tears, struggling to hide everything?

Why would you do that?

Is torturing your own mental is a thing now? Is it okay for you to misuse them even though it is yours, not others?

A laughter erupted from one is not just a mere vibration.

It’s the sound of happiness yet you took advantage of them, turning them into useless music to your eardrums.

Yet in the same time you persuade yourself to appear frenetic in public, grinning from ear to ear when the fact is later at night you’ll bury yourself underneath the blanket, sniffing and sobbing in silence as well as gently doing so to not be notice by any other creatures.

Oh how cruel.

Inside out, sadly; you’re a phony

A pat would be nice

A hug would be even better

But you, my dear; being rock-headed and heart as soft as tissues, rather than being a direct person, you prefer to give maze kind of hints which lead to a deeper complexion and confusion for others to break through your wall. Thus, you failed to express therefore no pat, no hug. No anything for you.

Padan muka.

EPC & A COTERIE OF COMPADRES

IT'S BEEN AWHILE!!!!!!!!

Excuse the exclamation marks. I'm just too excited with the fact that I am able to write.
Look, there's droplets of water on the keyboard indicating mi happinesssss~
Let's forget about food for a sec which is rare to everyone since I am known as someone who talk about food like-- 23/7 a day lol.

Here's a teensy-weensy information-- uh news (?) or update ugh wtv but regarding how my life is going!!!!

Again, excuse the interjection.

Aside from learning the hectic side of English, they're actually fun. Well, I won't deny it can feel like a real pain in the ass sometimes if you took a glance away from the lecturer/the board/the slides. One blink away & you might stray. Although I had a hard time keeping my sanity but hey, I managed to do so. Somehow. Not really. Meh :p

Oh and, I get to meet with super duper cool clique as well! Surprisingly, I've never thought I can laugh during my degree years since there's this inner voice inside my head trying to scare me saying that ;

"Idk anyone in here how am I supposed to live someone help"

Once again, I was surprised. They were so nice as in omg I don't deserve this kind of kindness lol jk.
Remember me and gastritis can never be a thing together but somehow we're tangled to each other sobs. I suffered real bad that one particular day and the WHOLE clique came and took me to the health center I mean we barely know each other yet?! Ai iz touched (wipe tears)

Since I'm that type of person who can hate people easily yet I can get attached way more easily hahahahahaha so it is safe to say that I'm loving this group of bijess. Hek hek.

BEWARE. I CAN BE SUPER CLINGY WHEN I LIKE U. Mweheheh.

And the seniors of my course? They're nice too! (so far with those that I've met before)
Tbh I was expecting any kind of badass behavior as in the haughty look on their face or anything.
Lmao none. Yet.
Perhaps because they learnt Critical Thinking back then so that's why they can act human-ly..?

It's just that my friends kept on complaining on how the seniors from their faculty treated the freshies badly. As in torturing them physically and mentally. I mean come on, you're mature and big enough to initiate all those immature shiz. This is 2017 mah.

Let's not forget about my curricular activities. I joined Outward Bound Kesatria (Kembara) AND I THINK I MADE A GOOD DECISION.

The instructor and even the commanders are nice and they're cute. Regardless the yelling when they were telling us to rush here and there. It wasn't that frequent compared to other groups. I've had enough of strict rules and yelling here and there during my high school years (again, wiping the tears) They tend to encourage us rather than scolding or chiding. Tak tahu lah kalau in the future we might get tortured lmao hahaha.

I don't really want to get this excited since it's the first year. But I can't help it.

Praises won't hurt.
Smiles won't bring down the pride.
Bonding isn't that bad.

You don't let others to carve you a path. You're the one who navigate yourself to the side where you wanted to be in it. Therefore, go for it since you only live once (wink)

Eat & Repeat Cafe @ Shah Alam

That moment when you thought when you reach University life, you don't have to carry all those heavy books anymore as you did when you were in high school but you're hundred percent wrong. Wrong prediction wei. Hahaha

They are lesser, yes but they're heavier. Waaaaaaay too thick and they look scary since we were told to do it from cover to cover.
Let's just hope I won't shed tears when I go through every pages.

Last week we went out to buy the books from this bookstore called ABA Bookstore; the common bookstore for UiTM students tbh. It may look small but they got all kind of textbook the students need though.

Being me, here's the late review. I had so many things to do & when I get sleepy, I can't afford to type anything in here. Sowwy bloggyyyy sowwwyy.

The rest of my classmates decided to eat fast food that day but since me & Bella already had fast food recently, we went to other direction & found a cafe where people kept on going in & out of it. Curious, we went to take a closer look.

I thought it was a vape shop & I don't fancy eating surrounded with any types of vapor. You know that kind of place where people eat & inhale-exhale whatever they are holding or sell stuff related to the flavor & item. Somehow it feels wrong as I read their signboard but then there were actually nothing unpleasant inside. It's just a kedai makan & that's it. Which I felt relieved. Ehe.

And the good news is, they're affordable. Regardless for students or for family. It's the same concept as Boat Noodle except ALL servings & beverages is only RM1.90. Quite reasonable kan?

Pardon my roommate, Bella. She's a bit shy when it comes to taking a single picture.

 Ai iz shy oso :p

As you can see, it's not that spacious but we can still eat at ease. Not to the extend you're not comfortable. I actually love cafes that have a lot of deco on their wall. As in doodle/typography-- framed or glued on the wall. Mama once said my preference described my mind. Serabut. Hahahaha.

Mind you this is the layout of two people's orders, not six xD

 Perhaps, delighted? Muahaha.

 Laksa (RM 1.90)
Delish!

 Kepak Ayam Tandoori (RM 1.90)
RECOMMENDED. SO GOOD WEI. Or it might just be because of my love towards chicken wing hehe.

 Nasi Lemak Telur (RM 1.90)
A picante sambal? If you can't handle hot type of sambal, I won't recommend you to order this one.

 Nasi Goreng Cina (RM 1.90)

 Soto Ayam (RM 1.90)

 Mee Bandung (RM 1.90)

Brownies + Ice Cream (Rm 1.90)
Not sure if it's worth it because the brownies can be eaten in one bite only hahahaha oh well, I guess it's okay for the price.

Honestly, we were full. Even though it was served in a small bowl but their portion wasn't that bad. As for the service, the cashier was the smiley type but the waitress ignored us & walked coldly when we asked which one is Mee Celup which one is Mee sup which one is Mee Kari which one is Mee Bandung (some look the same since all of them were placed on the table altogether)

Any respond? Nope, she glared instead of answering. It was not even packed that she had to rush or anything. Lenggang je punz but for you to treat customers like that. Hek eleh.

So, the waitress sucks.

And our tummies were happy as well~ Ah! I forgot to mention about the beverage. Quite disappointed with the Sarsi/Oren/Aiskrim Soda because they are actually cordial drinks. As in you have to add water in order to serve them. I really thought it's a carbonated drink but then again, in their menu it does not mention they are soft drinks. So, keep in mind that they are actually cordials. Nonetheless, my mango drink was somewhat competent.

Kalau agak agak wallet tengah ringan, you can just go here. No regrets ;)

Babah & Co @ Shah Alam

I know someone who calls their father, Abah.
To make it more friendly, it becomes Babah sometimes.
I call my father, Ayah.

How do you address your father?

When my parents departed from here, I sent them off at my college entrance’s gate. I waved them goodbye, giving equal kisses to both of them. It feels heavy on the inside, staring as they walked away with hope & trust on me.

Ayah pressed on the fact on how I have to struggle even though it is just my first semester. So I nodded in return.

Ayah looked calm & when I thought Ma felt the same, I was wrong.

She called me 10 minutes after I reached my room & sniffed all the way while giving advices & such. I guess all fathers & mothers will act like that when they send their child away xD

To be honest, I left lots of stuff back in my room lmfao then I was scolded by them hahahaha. My Cuina & Cu Lee came to send my Mikoooooo. Now everything is going to be hunky-dory because my big teddy is heeeereeeee yiippey!

I got to fill in my tummy with good food on that day. Can’t wait to share it with you guys!

Explains why my introduction is about daddieesssss. This one restaurant/cafe called Babah & Co. Even their interior & exterior design are classy af. I did not get to take any shots inside since we decided to be served outdoor. Both sides are nice though.

Would you just excuse my face & there's my Cuina~

Cu Lee's Carbonara (RM 20.00)

 Cuina's Bolognese (RM 21.00)

I don't really fancy pasta/spaghetti therefore I can't really evaluate the taste but I heard Cu Lee said the bolognese was well matched. The taste that you won't find in common. Not too sweet & not that sour as well. Just nice.

 Fried Yin Yong (RM 12.00)

RECOMMENDED BECAUSE I LOVE THEM. Ehehehe. The seafood portion was quite nice too! & the gravy won't make you feel queasy afterwards. Make sure you order plain water as well since the beverage might have saccharine flavor.

Oreo Cookies & Cream (RM 15.00)

They were upset because instead of 2 pieces of oreo, it was only 1- cracked in half. So both of them charged for the oreo together. Idk who won lol.

 Melty Hersheys (RM 15.00)

Mine tasted so good. Gosh, I ordered the right food, the right drink for the day. 3 pieces of chocolates for me yay buuuuuut there's more on the inside! With the small chunks of Hershey's chocolate & the taste of the chocolate drink, I fell in love. Note that I am indeed a chocolate maniac.

In a process of transferring mushroom to the other plate :p

LG240 here!

Assalamualaikum.

Guess who’s back after going through a hectic week?
Gosh.

I can’t really describe my feelings while I type this entry.  More like, I’m out of words.
Acah je. I might write a damn long paragraph later on  :p

Furthering my degree in UiTM Shah Alam, I have to say I’m thankful enough to receive the offer letter from their side. Back then, when my hope was so high, I got myself disappointed when I got rejected. Be it UPSR, PMR, SPM & even STPM.
I cried a river. Then I decided to work & kinda had the thought to just continue working.

Therefore, I hoped for nothing.

Somehow, He knows what’s the best for us. And I think I couldn’t argue on that one.
Taking LG240 English for Professional Communication (EPC) under APB faculty (Akademi Pengajian Bahasa), I’ll be sure not to play around this time.

I’m still trying to do my best on adapting. It’s not like the place is unfamiliar or anything. Although I worked in a field where I had to entertain customer, the introvert side of me are still there.

There will be time when I wanted to snuggle under the blanket, living in the darkness, hating the fact that I have to meet eyes with strangers as we talk. I even hold the record as in almost the whole day hiding & laying down under my bed weh because I hate to interact to anyone. No kidding.

I overcome those fear by bits. Being hyper then the next second I went mute. 360 degree change. Of course the fear is still there. Sometimes tryna take over. Guess I’ll have to do my best to survive here.

We went for a walk with the seniors earlier this morning. This place is soooo damn huge. The buildings are just the same to me I couldn’t differentiate if it’s not for the signboard lmao. Wonder how long it’ll take for me to get used to the routes though.

Therefore, this will be my first time staying apart from my family!
All of us are taking different courses, which makes it more fun ehehe.

Yet to register any sport activities nor the classroom spot or wtv they are called. Tomorrow’s the day though. There’s this building called Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB) Bangunan Korea.

Why Korea?  Yet to figure that out as well but they do have Korean’s flag as the symbol on the building. It’s not that far from Main Gate 2. BUT, for APB, there are 3 buildings & they’re kinda bersepah inside here. That’s what the seniors said lmao. So we have to look at our schedule carefully & such~
Can’t wait for tomorrow! Wonder how it’ll goes for the rest of the semester.

Here’s my roommate. (from left) Kak Fayyad [Perak], Farhana [Sabah] & Nabila [Terengganu]
