Eat & Repeat Cafe @ Shah Alam

That moment when you thought when you reach University life, you don't have to carry all those heavy books anymore as you did when you were in high school but you're hundred percent wrong. Wrong prediction wei. Hahaha

They are lesser, yes but they're heavier. Waaaaaaay too thick and they look scary since we were told to do it from cover to cover.
Let's just hope I won't shed tears when I go through every pages.

Last week we went out to buy the books from this bookstore called ABA Bookstore; the common bookstore for UiTM students tbh. It may look small but they got all kind of textbook the students need though.

Being me, here's the late review. I had so many things to do & when I get sleepy, I can't afford to type anything in here. Sowwy bloggyyyy sowwwyy.

The rest of my classmates decided to eat fast food that day but since me & Bella already had fast food recently, we went to other direction & found a cafe where people kept on going in & out of it. Curious, we went to take a closer look.

I thought it was a vape shop & I don't fancy eating surrounded with any types of vapor. You know that kind of place where people eat & inhale-exhale whatever they are holding or sell stuff related to the flavor & item. Somehow it feels wrong as I read their signboard but then there were actually nothing unpleasant inside. It's just a kedai makan & that's it. Which I felt relieved. Ehe.

And the good news is, they're affordable. Regardless for students or for family. It's the same concept as Boat Noodle except ALL servings & beverages is only RM1.90. Quite reasonable kan?

Pardon my roommate, Bella. She's a bit shy when it comes to taking a single picture.

 Ai iz shy oso :p

As you can see, it's not that spacious but we can still eat at ease. Not to the extend you're not comfortable. I actually love cafes that have a lot of deco on their wall. As in doodle/typography-- framed or glued on the wall. Mama once said my preference described my mind. Serabut. Hahahaha.

Mind you this is the layout of two people's orders, not six xD

 Perhaps, delighted? Muahaha.

 Laksa (RM 1.90)
Delish!

 Kepak Ayam Tandoori (RM 1.90)
RECOMMENDED. SO GOOD WEI. Or it might just be because of my love towards chicken wing hehe.

 Nasi Lemak Telur (RM 1.90)
A picante sambal? If you can't handle hot type of sambal, I won't recommend you to order this one.

 Nasi Goreng Cina (RM 1.90)

 Soto Ayam (RM 1.90)

 Mee Bandung (RM 1.90)

Brownies + Ice Cream (Rm 1.90)
Not sure if it's worth it because the brownies can be eaten in one bite only hahahaha oh well, I guess it's okay for the price.

Honestly, we were full. Even though it was served in a small bowl but their portion wasn't that bad. As for the service, the cashier was the smiley type but the waitress ignored us & walked coldly when we asked which one is Mee Celup which one is Mee sup which one is Mee Kari which one is Mee Bandung (some look the same since all of them were placed on the table altogether)

Any respond? Nope, she glared instead of answering. It was not even packed that she had to rush or anything. Lenggang je punz but for you to treat customers like that. Hek eleh.

So, the waitress sucks.

And our tummies were happy as well~ Ah! I forgot to mention about the beverage. Quite disappointed with the Sarsi/Oren/Aiskrim Soda because they are actually cordial drinks. As in you have to add water in order to serve them. I really thought it's a carbonated drink but then again, in their menu it does not mention they are soft drinks. So, keep in mind that they are actually cordials. Nonetheless, my mango drink was somewhat competent.

Kalau agak agak wallet tengah ringan, you can just go here. No regrets ;)

Babah & Co @ Shah Alam

I know someone who calls their father, Abah.
To make it more friendly, it becomes Babah sometimes.
I call my father, Ayah.

How do you address your father?

When my parents departed from here, I sent them off at my college entrance’s gate. I waved them goodbye, giving equal kisses to both of them. It feels heavy on the inside, staring as they walked away with hope & trust on me.

Ayah pressed on the fact on how I have to struggle even though it is just my first semester. So I nodded in return.

Ayah looked calm & when I thought Ma felt the same, I was wrong.

She called me 10 minutes after I reached my room & sniffed all the way while giving advices & such. I guess all fathers & mothers will act like that when they send their child away xD

To be honest, I left lots of stuff back in my room lmfao then I was scolded by them hahahaha. My Cuina & Cu Lee came to send my Mikoooooo. Now everything is going to be hunky-dory because my big teddy is heeeereeeee yiippey!

I got to fill in my tummy with good food on that day. Can’t wait to share it with you guys!

Explains why my introduction is about daddieesssss. This one restaurant/cafe called Babah & Co. Even their interior & exterior design are classy af. I did not get to take any shots inside since we decided to be served outdoor. Both sides are nice though.

Would you just excuse my face & there's my Cuina~

Cu Lee's Carbonara (RM 20.00)

 Cuina's Bolognese (RM 21.00)

I don't really fancy pasta/spaghetti therefore I can't really evaluate the taste but I heard Cu Lee said the bolognese was well matched. The taste that you won't find in common. Not too sweet & not that sour as well. Just nice.

 Fried Yin Yong (RM 12.00)

RECOMMENDED BECAUSE I LOVE THEM. Ehehehe. The seafood portion was quite nice too! & the gravy won't make you feel queasy afterwards. Make sure you order plain water as well since the beverage might have saccharine flavor.

Oreo Cookies & Cream (RM 15.00)

They were upset because instead of 2 pieces of oreo, it was only 1- cracked in half. So both of them charged for the oreo together. Idk who won lol.

 Melty Hersheys (RM 15.00)

Mine tasted so good. Gosh, I ordered the right food, the right drink for the day. 3 pieces of chocolates for me yay buuuuuut there's more on the inside! With the small chunks of Hershey's chocolate & the taste of the chocolate drink, I fell in love. Note that I am indeed a chocolate maniac.

In a process of transferring mushroom to the other plate :p

LG240 here!

Assalamualaikum.

Guess who’s back after going through a hectic week?
Gosh.

I can’t really describe my feelings while I type this entry.  More like, I’m out of words.
Acah je. I might write a damn long paragraph later on  :p

Furthering my degree in UiTM Shah Alam, I have to say I’m thankful enough to receive the offer letter from their side. Back then, when my hope was so high, I got myself disappointed when I got rejected. Be it UPSR, PMR, SPM & even STPM.
I cried a river. Then I decided to work & kinda had the thought to just continue working.

Therefore, I hoped for nothing.

Somehow, He knows what’s the best for us. And I think I couldn’t argue on that one.
Taking LG240 English for Professional Communication (EPC) under APB faculty (Akademi Pengajian Bahasa), I’ll be sure not to play around this time.

I’m still trying to do my best on adapting. It’s not like the place is unfamiliar or anything. Although I worked in a field where I had to entertain customer, the introvert side of me are still there.

There will be time when I wanted to snuggle under the blanket, living in the darkness, hating the fact that I have to meet eyes with strangers as we talk. I even hold the record as in almost the whole day hiding & laying down under my bed weh because I hate to interact to anyone. No kidding.

I overcome those fear by bits. Being hyper then the next second I went mute. 360 degree change. Of course the fear is still there. Sometimes tryna take over. Guess I’ll have to do my best to survive here.

We went for a walk with the seniors earlier this morning. This place is soooo damn huge. The buildings are just the same to me I couldn’t differentiate if it’s not for the signboard lmao. Wonder how long it’ll take for me to get used to the routes though.

Therefore, this will be my first time staying apart from my family!
All of us are taking different courses, which makes it more fun ehehe.

Yet to register any sport activities nor the classroom spot or wtv they are called. Tomorrow’s the day though. There’s this building called Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB) Bangunan Korea.

Why Korea?  Yet to figure that out as well but they do have Korean’s flag as the symbol on the building. It’s not that far from Main Gate 2. BUT, for APB, there are 3 buildings & they’re kinda bersepah inside here. That’s what the seniors said lmao. So we have to look at our schedule carefully & such~
Can’t wait for tomorrow! Wonder how it’ll goes for the rest of the semester.

Here’s my roommate. (from left) Kak Fayyad [Perak], Farhana [Sabah] & Nabila [Terengganu]

Azie Live Kitchen @ Parit Raja

So, there's this one day where it's the time of my month & guuuuurl you know how you're going to crave for unusual sort of stuff. I happened to crave for chicken.
Those frozen-instant-chicken-prepped-with-wtv-flavors-available.
Since it was past 10 already, the supermarket already closed ah so sad.
Beside the supermarket, there's this restaurant called Azie Live Kitchen & I thought "hey there might be chicken over there"

I WANT TO EAT AYAM GORENG SO BAD

The thing is, I ordered Chicken Chop. Been living for 21 y/o & I never had this experience where I was served with Chicken Grill when I wanted to eat fried chicken so bad.
I mean--
Come on,
Chicken Grill is where you grill the chicken. Literally.
And Chicken Chop is where you deep fried the chicken...
ISN'T IT

I asked the waitress for the menu & I just realized their menu goes like;
-Chicken Chop
-Fried Chicken Chop

I DID NOT NOTICE PUN I MEAN HOW COULD I READ THE MENU THOROUGHLY WHEN I WAS STARVING & CRAVING AT THE SAME TIME :(

I was so upset that my hormone wanted to cry (lmao)

Who to blame? The universe for creating such confusing names?

Ayah said the place was nice, their tables & the seating that'll give space to move around without having to glide on anything is considerable. Doesn't look cramped but spacious instead. I'm still upset with my chicken.

Drank hot barley with my poker-face-man. Don't even ask why I looked like that. It was my first day. And my craving was not satisfied for the day. Tch.

How they serve their black pepper gravy was quite fascinating. Quite classy~ I ordered Chicken Chop Cheese. As you can see, there's the cheese. How I wish it was melted (even just a bit) instead of just placing it on top. There's the fries. Oh the mashed potato was quite good! They tasted well together with the black pepper gravy. There's the bun as well, I gave them away to Ayah then he ate it together with the coleslaw.
I don't fancy veggies remember. Heheh.

Chicken Chop (RM 9.50)

To be honest... the gravy was soooooo sweet. They tasted quite okay for the first time but as you kept on eating, pouring, licking. God, I had the thought that someone might have accidentally poured in generous amount of sugar while cookin'

Wedges & Cheese (RM 4.00)

Major turn off to us for the Cheese Wedges. It was just plain wedges without any coating. No crumbs. Not coated with any kind of flour as well (I guess) Therefore without the cheese, it might be just plain potatoes. Bland. Edible though.

The price is not that bad & here's a piece of an advice;
read the menu & order carefully. KEENLY

The staffs were giving me glances as I took pictures of the food & the interior. Not sure whether I looked way too upset to be noticed or the rumpled face of mine looked way too obvious hahahaha.

Aaaaand, that's the end of my emotional day & how I got through it. Yay!
Lol.

D'Sampan Cafe @ Parit Raja

Idk if being hidden actually has meaning behind it.
Whether that person is ashamed of you or to protect you from false accusations,
that's the thing.
You'll never know. You can never be sure of something.

Anyway! Speaking of hidden stuff & such, there's this retro cafe located in Parit Raja. Tell ya what, when we arrived there, it doesn't even look fancy on the outside.
Gotta say the exterior made us felt doubtful.
But as you stepped inside, they actually have unique decorations. On their ceiling, around the cafe itself & even on their door. A plane as well hung by string on the ceiling.
Even their tables are fancy.

Named D'Sampan Cafe, they were screaming pirates through the decorations & the interior. I guess that's why the exterior & even the signboard looks like they were about to fall anytime soon. It's a pirate theme ayyyyy?

Creative murals with a furious jaws. Rawr. Lol how does sharks even sounds like?

Perhaps they were in renovating process since there's no signboard stating that the cafe itself is D'Sampan. It's literally a plain plank behind Ayah's head. Plain & wooden. How do I know it's D'Sampan then? Eh kamon, Waze :p

Careful on throwing the darts. You might miss the target & it'll end up on the cashier's head.

It looks like a shack or a cabin or a playground lmao idk but the spot seems to attract people. Pirateeeee-y hahahaha

Aw. Sorry folks! I forgot to take pictures of their menu. But trust me, it is way cheaper than other places with western food. They're affordable. Thumbs up!

The table is actually a barrel! Except it is way bigger than the standard size of a normal barrel. Teh O Panas (RM 0.80) as usual belongs to Ayah. Where else wei to find Teh O does not even reach RM1?! I don't fancy carrot, but I started to learn to drink Carrot Susu (RM2.00) instead because someone insisted it's for my eyes blah blah blah. As for Ma, she likes sour-y stuff. She had Apple Asam Boi for the night (RM2.50)

Nasi Goreng USA (RM5.50)

It's my first time though seeing fried rice served with french fries. Have you guys ever seen one?

Aglio Olio Seafood (RM6.90)

Recommended!! Looks bland but they tasted the best amongst the three.

Chicken Chop (RM7.00)

I'm a picky eater actually & the Chicken Chop does not really match with my taste. It feels like the coating came from the instant flour (the ones you can buy in any store) & there's this how do I say it. Tangy? Pungent taste..? on my tongue after chewing them. It was edible nonetheless! Except I couldn't finish them so my parents did it for me heheh. Aglio Olio wins! Yay!

The plating & the serving was not messy at all. They were served neat & clean.
Which makes the cafe even better by seconds.

Happy tummy, happy me!

HYS GARDANIA @ PARIT RAJA

I am actually in a blank state of mind as I write this post.
I could not find my sanity these days. As if they wandered without my conscience.
There's just too much for me to think of.
And I guess my brain did not want to handle the issues.

I feel bad to talk about it to anyone since I heard it's bad if you goes around complaining about your life.
Therefore I tried my best not to spill.
But then again, what's life without its' ups & downs? The sweetness & bitterness to taste?
And there will always be someone by your side to cheer you up.
And that person might just sing a song to comfort you.
Gosh, Irene & her voice.

Or someone who always sees you prettier than anyone else
And that person might got every lil puns to keep you smiling.
Not to forget the fact that all the wise words coming out from their side.
Once a twin always a twin ey Shah?

And of course I got my teddy bears to cheer me up aaaaall the time. Although they would file a complaint on how I cuddled them by turn instead of altogether :p

Speaking of those fluffy toys--
I followed my parents to the Self-Laundry-Bar (whats the name for it again i forgot alrdy)
Since it'll take quite an hour to wash and then dry the garments, we decided to fill in our tummy.
Yes, in a middle of the night.

So here's the spot! Called HYS Gardania. You HAVE to take a look inside.

THOSE TEMPTING GIANT-THING-FILLED-WITH-COTTON tried to make me hug them. I had to resist from jumping on them lmao. The mirror is actually a flippin door. Okay not that it flips though k wtv anyway their kitchen is behind the door. My thoughts; it will look nicer if there were frames or printed wallpaper on the white bland wall. But then again, they might want to keep it clean & classy ;)

And they got quite good books for customers to read. Oh, excuse my jammies. I was too lazy to change & ended up with gray-ootn for the night. Mwehehe.

Ma got herself a green tea. Ayah & forever a cup of hot tea while I drank Ice Blended Honeydew. Too bad it looks like they blended cold water instead of ice cubes. Honeydew is like-- my favorite fruit all the time. Except when you buy them in the market, it'll be hard to get the sweet ones. Anyone got tips when you buy them?

My Meehon Tomyam & Ma's Kuetiow Soup tasted quite good but Ayah's fried rice does not match his taste. Therefore my Tomyam became his kuah instead. Hahaha. It was edible though no worries.

No Ayah, you don't pick anyone's nose like that.

Just in case you wanted to visit this cute cafe, I'll just put the address down below. The cafe is quite hidden from the big road, you will have to go in a bit further to reach their destination.
